The Academy is launching a new Adult Education Program with two healthcare pathways — Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Fully funded by a NYS Department of Health Workforce Development Grant, so eligible participants pay no tuition. Evening classes begin Fall 2026.

LPN

Licensed Practical Nurse

An 18-month evening program that prepares you to sit for the NCLEX-PN and earn New York State LPN licensure.

EMT

Emergency Medical Technician

A full-school-year evening program delivered with the Nassau County VEEB, preparing you for New York State EMT certification.

Four simple steps

Register your interest & RSVP for the Open House.

Attend the Open House to learn about both pathways.

Complete a short entry assessment (ELA + Math).

Admitted students are selected by assessment. Funded seats are limited (15 per pathway); others join the waitlist.

This is an interest registration, not an application for admission — and selection is competitive by assessment, not first-come.

What does it cost?

Fall 2026. LPN meets Monday–Friday, 5:00–8:00 PM; EMT meets three evenings per week.

Is this an application?

No. The form is an expression of interest and Open House registration, not an application for admission. Admitted students are selected by a short ELA + Math assessment; seats are limited (15 per pathway).
