GAME: The Academy Charter School vs. Island Park Middle School

Another Great Showing for our Our Academy Charter School Student Athletes. Today we traveled to Island Park for our first away game of the Season. The game was deadlocked at halftime. However, in the second half our boys once again locked in on defensive and win convincingly against a good Island Park team.

Once again our Student Athletes brought their A-game with more solid defense and great ball movement on offense. The team was completely in sync. The second team also stepped up and dominated at both ends of the court, making scoring look effortless. The second quarter was a repeat performance. At halftime I approached the referee and offered to show some sportsmanship to help the opposing team. We decided to take a different approach, we eliminated our fast breaks and focused on smart plays and extra passes. We also relaxed our staple 2 – 3 defense. In the 5th quarter only our second team players played. We even cheered on our opponents when they scored.
