The Academy Marching Panthers is a high-step, southern-style Marching Band comprised of scholars in grades 9-12! The Marching Band consists of the following sections: Horns, Percussion, and Auxiliary. Scholars participating in the Horn section are taught to play and master various wind instruments: Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Euphonium, and Tuba. Horn players are engrained with the musical skills of Theory, Aural Training, and Breathing Techniques to give the Marching Band a sound of refined greatness! Scholars participating in the Percussion section are taught to establish and maintain the heartbeat of the Marching Band through use of the Snare Drums, Bass Drums, Quint Drums, and Crash Cymbals. All Percussion players endure rigorous rehearsals to ensure that the Marching Band has steady and catchy rhythms to keep our audiences entertained! Scholars participating in the Auxiliary section are responsible for bringing the flare, sass, and attitude to our Marching Band! These scholars form a team of energetic Dancers and Flags who focus on learning intense choreography that complements the various musical arrangements of the Horn and Percussion section!
