Advanced S.T.E.A.M Program
As a technology school, The Academy Charter High School will be incorporating an enhanced S.T.E.A.M. program integrating arts and sciences throughout our classrooms. Technology based instruction will connect academic, problem-solving and application to develop students to be world-class competitive scholars.
Rich Extracurricular & Sports Program
Scholars will have the ability to participate in interscholastic athletics governed by the NYSPHSAA. The tentative sports programs for the 2021/22 school year are; G/B Soccer, G/B Volleyball, G/B Basketball, G/B Track and Field, Wrestling, G/B Swimming, G/B Bowling, G/B Lacrosse, B/G Tennis, and Cheer. Scholars will also have the ability to participate in various extra-curricular activities and clubs including, marching band, dance, concert band, drama, and our award winning debate team.
The Academy Houses
Every scholar will be a member of an Academy House for the duration of their studies at the Academy. Their house leader (Academy staff member) will guide them, and 11-13 of their peers, through the academic and socio-emotional learning experiences as they go though their time at the Academy.
Summer Preparation
Prior to the start of each school year, scholars will be invited for a week of on-boarding. Activities for on-boarding include college visits, scholar orientation, and team building.
